There is a common theory that you have to be tall to play basketball at the highest level. What you probably haven't seen is a picture containing two very different players. Manute Bol and Muggsy Bogues, how do they differ? Manute was an astonishing 7'7", he was the tallest player who ever played in the league. Muggsy stood at 5'3" tall! Bogues holds the record of the shortest NBA player ever. Both players shown here had successful NBA careers.
This is one of the most memorable NBA pictures Sports Illustrated has ever released.
Spud Webb was also a great small player and man could he dunk! Amazing how a man as short as he was could elevate like that. I wonder how his knees are now that he is retired.
ReplyDeleteSpudd Webb was impressive being a 5'4" dunker, I loved watching him in the dunk contest. I bet he isn't dunking anymore, dropping from 4 feet off the rim probably did a number on his knees.
ReplyDeleteThis is insane! Like I've said before, I play basketball but don't really enjoy watching it. This picture doesn't even look real though! Mind blown.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is amazing. I knew you didn't have to be tall but I thought, well, I don't know what I thought anymore. LOL That is mind blowing like Cindy said.
